From Latin America to Asia: An International Forester Reflects on a Long Career and the Future Ahead

Wil de Jong has consistently conducted research in the forestry sector that is centered on local people and local community throughout his over 30-year career. At the same time, he has challenged the wider framework of national and international politics as well as legal and social regimes, focusing on natural resource issues and climate change while still emphasizing local realities. He has extensive knowledge of forestry across the globe, having conducted research in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. He has collaborated with many experts, including researchers, NGO partners, and international organizations all around the world.
